Humour & Puns
Puns
We’ll make no apologies for having a twisted sense of humour and this starts with some of the puns we have come up with. If you can think of any more let us know.
Pomegedon:
An event to mark the end of the 80:08. We would encourage developing a deep relationship with local and national Breakfast TV in the months and weeks leading up to the collection to raise awareness of the event and Brain Injury / Stroke / Brain Tumours and the :08 gives a suitable time to show an event after an hourly news bulletin. In this case we see a group including an outside broadcaster getting “drenched” from above by bucket loads of Pom Poms. The opportunity is available for the broadcaster to interview spokespeople for the local charity before or after the event.
Pomoganda and Pomphlet, Pomphleteer:
All suitable to be used as titles for newsletters and other publicity materials
Pommissioner, Chief Pommissioner, Deputy Chief Pommissioner:
For the purposes of media and social media you may like to give these titles to your organisers. Pictures of a formal “appointment” ceremony would work well.
Pomdominium:
A possible name to refer to your HQ.
Brain Ball:
A separate major event days or weeks after the 80:08 to thank collectors and supporters and use the opportunity to raise both funds and awareness. Yes we know this is not a pun,
In researching the date we noted that the 6/10 is unofficially “Mad Hatter Day” referring to the price tag on the Alice in Wonderland’s character’s hat. What you do with this information is up to you.
Warning: I tend to have a unique sense of self-deprecating humour. If you catch me going too far let me know.
